If you take your politics seriously enough to make tens of thousands of posts here, why would you tolerate a significant other who can't even be bothered to meet her most basic civic responsibilities?

On Friday, I entered Greene County, NY (a most benighted county which just oozes Trump from its every pore), and then after a respite in a safe zone from Trump (Ulster), entered Orange County - no, not the one that went for Clinton this time in CA, but the one in NY, which did. Those counties were but Trump county appetizers. Ensuing Trump county courses including Pike, and Carbon in PA, and then Hunterdon and Morris in NJ (with the intervening Clinton county safe zones of Monroe, Lehigh, Montco and Bucks in PA, Somerset, NJ),  and then after spending a night in Morristown, Bergen in NJ, and Rockland in NY, before finally reentering my safe zone home base of Columbia County).

No, but I have been to several Hofer-voting counties over the past months, of which there are plenty around here (including the one I live in).

I've driven through Trump counties, but have yet to set foot on their actual soil/pavement. Drove from Chicago to Nebraska, got gas in (D) strongholds DuPage and Polk Counties, and have spent the rest of the time in the two Nebraskan (D) counties. Unfortunately, it's impossible to make the drive from Eastern Nebraska to Denver without getting gas in a Trump county, so I'll be f'ed later in the year.

I was in a county that voted  54-40 for Trump, and then the next morning the first county I went into voted 60-39% for Hillary. I didn't know Osceola County was so large and so Democratic, but the Orlando region is probably my weakest area of general Florida knowledge. I've pretty much been up and down the center of the state several times since the election.

BRTD: You ought to call gas stations along your route to Illinois and see who the owners/management voted for. Wouldn't it make a lot more sense to only support pro-Hillary businesses, regardless of location, than potentially putting money into the pockets of Trump supporters in pro-Hillary areas?

Yes, no longer in Champaign. Would not be able to get to Champaign from Chicago without going through Trump country, but we know that Champaign County was not Trump country.
