This isn't uncommon. Democrats are doing this in Illinois as well. Madigan's goal has always been to make sure that Rauner is a one-termer.

Yeah, I know he comes across as terribly condescending and elitist, but I once saw him defending a few Republican posters in an "Opinion of ??" thread, which surprised me. He doesn't deserve all the hate.

-He's a nice guy in some respects, but that doesn't make him anywhere near an FF. My view of him is rather similar to my view of Virginia.
