The winner takes it all
The loser standing small
Beside the victory
That's his destiny

I would stuff ballot boxes for Meryl.

Speaking of which. She delivered a powerful message tonight on the current state of politics. It's doing the rounds on Facebook and other social media. Here it is:

I very much dislike the idea of actors as candidates.

Only someone as out of touch as the OP would think this is a good idea.

I'm 100% sure Meryl Streep has a higher net favorability rating than Trump.

I think this is a terrible idea obviously.  The OP sounds like the Republicans who thought Ben Carson running for president was a good idea because he criticized Obama once.

Having said that, what is Trump's plan?  Killing the terrorists' families?  Give me a break.

Meryl Streep is a good actress but her favorable ratings are based on her performance as an actress. The moment she ran for political office her favorables would fall through the floor because she'd have to start talking about controversial issues rather than bashing Trump in front of a room full of liberals.

She would do well in the Democratic primaries, but Gabbard or Sherrod Brown would force her out of the Super Tuesday primaries, maybe. Would she connect with Latinos or African Americans?

Why? Tom Hanks, Chris Pratt, Chris Evans, etc. could all make formidable presidential bids in 2020. Clooney would beat Trump, he doesn't act "out of touch".

What knowledge do they have of domestic and foreign policy? What experience do they have in executive and legislative affairs? Trump may have been the most electable Republican, but was perhaps the worst option for the Presidency. Even if these people made for good candidates, why would you actually want one to be President? I want someone who would actually know what they're doing.

Just as qualified as candidates who together got 48% of the vote in Republican primaries last year!

Keep in mind, we've already had an actor as President in the 80's.

She'll be our second one.
