This thread demonstrates just how terrible the democratic bench is.

Honestly there are serious ones like Elizabeth Warren, Cory Booker, Kamala Harris, Julian Castro, etc.

Streep is one of the fun ones.

LOL.

Meryl Streep would be an even bigger scarecrow to rural voters than Hillary Clinton.

She'd go up in flames and crash like the Hindenburg ...

Only someone as out of touch as the OP would think this is a good idea.

Considering all of the theatrical productions and antics from early 2016 on this Forum from the Lief, I suggest we have a double-billing: "The Streep Lief" roadshow and candidacy....

Maybe been listening to a bit much Black Sabbath lately, but it might be a good soundtrack for their joint candidacy (Pun definitely intended).

Lief's hackery has apparently gotten to such a self delusional level, that apparently in his deluded fog brain, he actually thinks that this is a potential reality, regardless of how anyone else thinks about the merits of poking a stick in Trump's eyeball rhetorically, which I simply consider to be a form of artistic expression, but definitely not worthy of consideration when it comes to actual selection of Presidential candidates.

Let's provide Lief the time of day, but I for one am not smoking the Streep-Lief bag....

Um, no.  We nominated an individual who had more executive experience in leading a large business organization than either party ever did.

When Republicans nominated an actor, we nominated one that was a successful two-term Governor of the largest state in the Union.

The US is not a business.

Trump apologism isn't any less ridiculous than it was the day he announced.

I'm going to point out that we never nominated anyone without experience in government to the presidency, at least not in the times when we were recognizable as us(Post FDR).

The Democrats were still using our bench from 2008. Hillary earned more votes towards a nomination then, than any Republican- including Trump -has, ever.

Ineligible for office due to being previous prime minster of United Kingdom.

She's already been the Iron Lady! What more could she want?

Bid deal.

Even with that she couldn't win a general election for President.

Yes, for sure.

I think the Dems should nominate a ticket of Meryl Streep/Kanye West.

Will do very well with the pot heads on the Left Coast.

I believe this is going to be about the strength of the Dem 2020 bench.
