Well, looks like we'll be chucking a grenade at public education and falling even further behind. Thanks, Congressional Republican schmucks! Thanks, Trump voters!

Public education could use a grenade chucked their way, but I'm not sure this is the way to go.

I expect Heller and Flake to get a lot of backlash for their votes.

It was a mistake for me to ever think these idiots ever had anything close to a backbone. I won't forget this.

No, I expected this, but the horror of the past couple of months just got personal for me.

Bold Prediction - zero Republicans cross over to vote against Puzder, Puzder makes it through 52-48.

Better question, will any Republican vote against any of the remaining nominees?

It really doesn't matter if there are crossovers now.  Today's vote shows that fifty Republicans are cowards who will happily vote in lockstep with their Fuhrer regardless of how unwise it is, and that's all that's needed.

Doubt it. Before the confirmations started I predicted they'd all get through, and I see no reason for that to change now.

McConnell might let one or two go every confirmation just for the lolz. Credit where credit is due, the guy has a firm control of his god damn caucus.

Collins flat out said that she would have voted for DeVos if necessary.

Better question yet, will any of the 50 cowards ever oppose Trump in any meaningful way? (i.e. not just talk it abstractly, a la "maaaaaaaaybe I'll have to vote against Tillerson Tongue")

Possibly not for the remaining Cabinet level appointments.  Paul might vote against some of the deputies in foreign policy areas, like State and Defense.  He's already urging Trump not to pick Elliott Abrams for the #2 job at State.

Good, glad she was confirmed. Democrats engaged in so much damn character assassination on this confirmation hearing. not only on DeVos but on all education advocates who supported charter schools or private vouchers.

She's patently an idiot. If anything, vouchers and charter schools will be discredited when she's done.
