Bunning...? Isn't he a tad old?
His 50 year old son is a judge who serves with Thapar on the Eastern Kentucky District.

He said that he wanted to avoid creating any dangerous precedents. He'd be a good addition to the court simply to move the Judiciary away from overreaching activism and legislating from the bench. Sounds like a smart person, and he didn't actually express his personal opinion.

Awesome! Can't wait to hear some more lower court nominees. Also, there is another Kentucky seat on the 6th that is still open. Somewhere, I think I heard that Bunning is the frontrunner for the other seat?

They are setting him up to slide into the next Supreme Court slot, perhaps this summer.

There should be a big avalanche of judicial noms around May.

Users like NH Volunteer or Sanchez should rejoice....Nikki Haley may have got a high-ranking post but Trump wanted to outright push her into becoming SoS.

http://www.politico.com/story/2017/04/nikki-haley-rex-tillerson-foreign-236806

Quote
In Donald Trumpís first meeting with Nikki Haley, on Nov. 17, he asked her to serve as his secretary of state. Haley turned him down, according to two sources familiar with the conversation, telling the president-elect that she lacked the requisite foreign policy experience for the job.

The former South Carolina governor ended up instead as U.S. ambassador to the United Nations ó the first to enjoy Cabinet rank in a Republican administration since Jeane Kirkpatrick during Ronald Reaganís first term. And with Rex Tillerson conducting his job almost entirely out of public view, Haley has improbably eclipsed the secretary of state as the countryís leading voice on foreign affairs.

I'm sure it's just a coincidence that the prospective 2020 presidential candidates (e.g., Booker, Gillibrand, Harris, Sanders, Warren) keeping showing up as "no" votes on these lists.  Tongue

A rather interesting choice to head the selective service (no senate action required here): http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/don-benton-draft-board_us_58ef89d7e4b0b9e98489e9a0
