This question is directed to Trump supporters, Republicans, and other right-wingers in general:

Who is your ideal running mate for Donald Trump?

If Mike Pence was your ideal running mate for Trump, you can include that as well.

Mike Pence is honestly as close as it gets. I like Pence a lot but he's not my favorite pol ever, so I'm willing to have him as Trump's VP.

Pence is bad on LGBT+ issues but great on everything else.

I don't know if he could have made a better choice than he did.  Scott Walker would have been a very similar pick to Pence, but that is just about it.  So, one of those two.

This.  Pence was the perfect do no harm kind of guy you want on the ticket.  Zero real controversy.  Way stronger of a selection than Tim Kaine was for the Hilldawg.

Pence is fantastic, so I would keep as is.

In retrospect, Pence was a great choice for Trump, and running with Trump really was Pence's only chance to run for Vice President without much controversy. Pence's ideology would've utterly dominated the headlines if he was, say, Rubio's running mate or Cruz's running mate.

Rubio's, yes. Cruz's, absolutely not. I would say that Pence is only slightly to Cruz's right, and Cruz is much more brash about his ideology than Pence is.

Anyway, I agree that Pence was an incredibly smart pick by The Trumpenfuhrer to rally the base and give him some balance on the ticket. Quiet, conservative guy from the Midwest? Yeah, checks out.

-Pence is to Cruz's left.
