I can't find any ways to delete a old poll and insert a new poll. Could there be viable solutions?

If you leave the 'poll duration' blank then it is unlikely.

This may not be exactly what you're looking for, But this piece of advice is just as effective as deleting a poll would be. Just edit the polls contents and choose to reset the vote count to zero.
