President Kennedy Approval Rating entering this election was 38%. The first 18 months of his presidency he was popular, as he passed tons of legislation : including the Family and Medical Leave Act which gave guaranteed 6 months of maternity leave and 3 months guaranteed paid leave with paternity leave half those lengths . He also passed Kennedy care with required all large corporations to provide healthcare to all their employees and for small business the government  would help cover some of the costs. And the tax rate was reformed to have 5 new brackets 9, 18,27 36, 45 percent .

But on foreign policy his decision not to go to war with Iraq after they invaded Kuwait cause bad consequences as  Iraq would later invade Saudi Arabia and directly take the oil regions of the country and install a puppet government in the rest of Saudi Arabia. This would cause oil prices to go up dramatically causing unempolmyent to go up to 9% and inflation to 7%. Senator Al Gore afraid of the dems losing announces he is running for president so he can fix the economy by making us not dependent on foreign oil and he would not allow Iraq to continue having an Iraqi empire. The dems in 1990 lost 35 house and 5 senate seats dropping their numbers to 235 house seats and 53 senate seats.Kennedy is pleading to continue the course as he said the problem will go away if we give it time and not to go back to the Reagan era.

On the republican side Bush is running to bring us back to the policies of Reagan saying Reagan faced a mess similar to this and fixed it and promises to deal with Iraq swiftly and effectively . Newt Gingrich is running on an ideological conservative platform promising to cut spending by 30%, defeat Iraq, and cut taxes down to two rates of 8%and 15%.Colin powell is running on his forign policy expertise  to defeat iraq, and unlike the rest promises not to repeal kennedycare but will return to Reagan era tax rates. Romney is running on a pro business platform to revive the economy and also agrees we need to defeat Iraq and not allow a cold war to form with them.

Democrats Debate Summary:

Al gore attacked Kennedy for moving too far to the left and choosing ideological purity over being pragmatic. Kennedy charged back with that the economic mess was caused by Reagan and Iraq not him. He said he fixed the Reagan mess which saved us for being back in the same situation we were  in the late 1970s and his sanctions will cause the Iraqi Empire to break up without costing American lives. Gore responded with going with Kennedy will cost the democarts clearly just like how LBJ term in office gave us Nixon and his 6 terrible corrupt years in office and Carter gave us Reagan and his 8 very right wing years in office and now Kennedy will likely cause us to return to the Reagan era with Bush or give us a president in Newt Gingrich who will make the Reagan years look far left.

Republican Debate Summary:

Bush argued he had the most experience needed , and the polices he proposed are the same polcies what brought down the Berlin Wall, and brought economic prosperity and called the rest too inexperienced. Newt Gingrich attacked the rest of being too liberal and sayed he unlike the rest of the RINO's is  a true conservative who will bring us a true conservative policies. Powell is arguing that todays economic problems are caused by one thing, Iraq controlling 50% of the world oil and says he is best equipped in leading the military to quickly defeating Iraq. Mitt Romney is claming that our problems are not caused by Iraq but caused by us not utilizing our energy and he promises to utilize the energy more , and cut taxes in a way that stimulates business directly. He says that his business record gives him the best chance of turning the country around.

We can now project that President Kennedy has been renominated. Now to go to his victory speech

Kennedy : thank you for giving me he opportunity to represent the Democratic Party for the 2nd time . Now it's time to defeat the republicans so we can protect the gains we made the past 4 years and don't return to the Reagan years or worse .

The republican primary we can project will not be decided today and may go to a contested convention .

But bad news for Kennedy  is the governor of Arkansas Bill Clinton has announced he will run for president as an independent.

Now to his announcement speech:

Bill Clinton : today I announce my run for president so we can have a change in Washington . The democrats have renominated a president who is disapproved by 59 percent of the country and the republicans will nominate people who are either totally inexperienced or someone who will make us long for the Reagan years . It's time for a pragmatist who doesn't care about politics or stuck on ideology we need someone who represents  middle America

We have reported that Vice President Bush and senator Romney has dropped of the race endorsing Colin Powell meaning Powell is he nominee , now for his speech .

Powell : Thank you for giving me the opportunity to represent this great party of Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt , Eisenhower and Reagan . Now it's time to once again engage the US in the world and return to the policy of peace through strength and stand up to Suddam Hussein and his new empire . We must not allow our country to allow us a to stand back and allow a dictator to conquer other counties and hold hostage the world economy. Thank you and god bless America .

Powell short list for vp is senator Romney ,fed chair Greenspan and governor dick Cheney

Bush was a great president but Romney would also be good so this is hard to decide who to support.
