Does the average forum poster come across as a marginal voter?

It made my vote for Johnson somewhat more enthusiastic, but I probably still would have voted for him without it.

Honestly, bro, these two candidates couldn't have been farther apart.  I think most everyone knew, by the time Comey popped up with this stuff, who they were voting for and that fictional character you mentioned barely existed in the real world.

No, because I'm British and couldn't vote anyway. But it would have given some of her voters doubts and made some softer Trump voters more enthusiastic.

Considering Trump essentially won this by 80,000 votes, I think that's enough to have flipped the election.

Not me personally, but it definitely caused a lot of my friends to stay home on election day.

I voted for Hillary so no.

But I do think that Comey needs to face the music for his very unprofessional behavior during this election. He needs to go.

No, but it did make me consider not voting at all, given how the floodgates were quite obviously in Trump turf after that.

There is a major exception to this, but most Democrats refuse to talk about it: the email controversy. Because of course Hillary Clinton was a hapless victim. All of it was a matter of unfair and biased coverage, none of it had anything to do with her actions, and we can't learn anything about who to nominate, how to run a campaign, or how public officials should conduct themselves from this.
A lot of us non-Dems have been screaming this for the last 10 months or so.

http://www.gallup.com/poll/2356/most-voters-say-bush-dui-incident-will-effect-vote.aspx

Just to note. After the report of Bush being arrested for a DUI. 9% of voters said their vote changed while 87% said it didn't change their vote. However ignoring for the Democrats that said Yes. 3% of Republicans and 10% of independents was enough to turn the 2000 election into a one that was won in Florida just by a few hundred votes. Which meant Bush could of won four states, Iowa, Wisconsin, New Mexico, and Oregon and turn that from 271 EV's to 301 EV's.

For the comey letter the she lost states like Michigan, Wisconsin, Florida, Pennsylvania in less than 1.5% margins. An EV difference of 75.

What movement it caused was probably more due to increasing enthusiasm among Republican voters than due to actually changing anyone's opinions. In 2012 when Romney had a good debate performance, statistical analysis indicated that his poll boost had more to do with shifting enthusiasm than shifting votes.
