State Senate Majority Leader John Flanagan is thinking of running for governor of New York in 2018, sources say. He may be formidable against Cuomo, but barring any indictments or anything, Cuomo should easily win a third term in 2018. What do you think?

Better then Palladino, but still no chances. I would prefer some moderate (on social issues - first, but - with some fiscal conservative streak) county executive as candidate.

Tom Allon/Kathleen Jimino would be a very electable ticket. Jimino won in 2013 after Obama beat Romney in 2012 by double digits. The last Democrat to lose her county, besides Clinton, was Dukakis.

Flanagan could probably get over 40% but I don't know how much further he could get.

Mainly at the whole idea that a Republican could win the NY governorship in a Trump midterm.

If that was what I meant, then that's what I would've said.  Now run along and work on your reading comprehension skills.
