I started believing in Trump victory, or at least in his possibilities, when I saw his first returns from Indiana, Kentucky and Virginia...but in the end he lost the latter bigger than Romney...am I stupid?

Virginia always has a major Republican counting bias. Sometimes the first 10% is as much as 15-20 points behind the final margin for the Democrats. It's a fools errand to predict how any election will go by looking at the Virginia results.
