Senator Marco Rubio has given SOS nominee Rex Tillerson a rough time during the confirmation hearings.

Will Rubio eventually support the Tillerson nomination?

Please vote and discuss.

My gut leans yes.

Marco Rubio seems to be someone who lacks much cajones. That's why I ended up voting for Kasich instead of Rubio in the Virginia GOP primaries.

Yes.

He's an establishment lackey. As long as those presidential aspirations are alive he'll toe the line.

I believe that Rubio will end up supporting the Tillerson nomination.

I would rather it would have been Mitt, but, oh well.  Smiley

He supported frickin' John Kerry, one of the dullest and worst secretaries of state in recent memory (worse than HRC, IMHO). If he wants to join the Democrats, let him go ahead. But believe me, if he does not support Tillerson, he will be seen by all for what he is.

He won't like it, but he doesn't have the spine to vote no.

Tillerson is vastly unqualified to be SOS. His ties to Russia, his refusal to answer simple questions and his inability to convince me that he will look out for American interests is deeply problematic.

Rubio, a real conservative, will have to make his own decision on Tillerson. I think he will vote against Tillerson personally because his entire supporter base (me included) are hawks who dislike Tillerson.

Eharding, it seems that you are under the assumption that the Reagan wing of the party will die and roll over for Trump on everything. You are gravely mistaken if this is what you believe. I voted for Trump, but my loyalty is to conservatism not the Republican Party. When Trump is wrong people like will make it well-known. When he is right I will sing his praises.

Oh, and BTW - Almost every GOP Senator voted for John Kerry's nomination, you disingenuous hack. Including Jeff Sessions, Rand Paul, Mike Lee.

Ted Cruz, Jim Inhofe, and John Cornyn were the ONLY GOP Senators to vote against Kerry's confirmation.
