How long did you lurk before joining Atlas?

I was off put by the huge signatures. Someone finally explained that you could turn them off, and I finally joined after a year or more of lurking. Now for some reason they don't bother me. I just got used to them I guess over time.

I think I wound up here on a Google search a couple times years before I joined and read a couple threads (and was really confused by the colors), but I never really lurked before I joined.

A month or two sounds about right. I wasn't really lurking in the sense that I was browsing the forum, but more like Google would bring me to posts from this site and I would read through the thread - rinse & repeat.

I don't know why I joined when I did, though. Perhaps I saw one of Tender's and slowly became overwhelmed by the mystical Austrian lure that emanates from the European countryside.

I found Dave's website during the 2000 election, but didn't know about the Forum until April 2005. The forum started in October 2003 so I was WAY late. I registered as soon as I found it though.

I miss the giant national county map he used to have for the presidential results.

I think it was a decent amount of time(maybe up to a month or more of lurking/being aware of the site before registering?), but considering my current level of activity, I effectively didn't start posting for 2 months after registering.
