Oh, I will endure. I'm just wondering if I'll be enduring in an apartment, or under a bridge.

Well, me and my mom have been surviving in a freaking hotel in VA Beach for over a year and we want out.  Originally I was planning on going back to college in NC, but ideally we'd like to be as far away from here as possible.  It would also be more lucrative to either go to a community college or study online while finding work in the new industry out there.

Currently I'm looking at cheap houses in Durango.  It seems to have a nice small town atmosphere to it.  Problem is we won't be able to leave until we get our stolen money back.  And our family pretty much abandoned us after we left Connecticut (my home state), so we don't feel that we're bound to any one part of the country.

I won't go too much into what's happened to us, but I'm miserable here and so is she.

Hmm... bold choice. I didn't know a man had a say in that...

If you guys are looking for an affordable, safe place to live with a decent economy you can't go wrong with the Upper Midwest (outside of Minneapolis and Madison). I know in Wisconsin you can find decent 1-2 bedroom apartments for $500-700 per month; the housing costs are similar in the Dakotas, Iowa, and Nebraska as well. I'd recommend checking out Eau Claire, WI; Wausau, WI; Appleton, WI; and Oshkosh, WI in particular. I just hope you guys have a way of securing an income ASAP wherever you move because you'll obviously need proof of income to rent a place and enough money to keep you secure if you have to stay in a hotel at first. Background checks with out-of-state IDs take more time as well, so that's another factor to consider for employment. I can certainly sympathize with your current situation, so whatever you guys decide to do I wish you the best.

One quarter left in my fantasy football game, and I'm down by 3.  Need a big 4th quarter!

On another note, I'm finally starting to feel a little better after an awful cold, but I'm still not 100%.  Probably was a mistake to get up really early to get to SEC Nation at the crack of dawn yesterday, considering how I've been feeling!

EDIT: Now I'm up by 5.5 (actually entering the 4th- I jumped the gun a few minutes ago) thanks to a massive catch and run by Chris Thompson!!

In other news, I'm having an existential crisis because I apparently forgot to do my math homework.

I'm happily way past that period in my life.

My good friend got gay-married in Scotland, which is obviously not recognized by The Most Serene Republic, but I'm very, very happy for him.

It's never a productive day when both cars are in need of repair. The BMW ran over a screw on Sat while driving in northern WI to beat the Chicago heat. With run flat tires I could top off the air each morning, but I knew I needed to get it replaced soon - and that was this morning. Then I went to run an errand in my Fusion hybrid and it wouldn't turn on. It's a 2011 and still had the original battery, which decided to die while we were away. So it went to get a new battery this afternoon. I had to cancel a couple of meetings and was indeed generally unproductive.

Speaking of the heat, today was the seventh consecutive day of record heat in the 90's. There was only one stretch of multiple days all summer over 90, and that was 4 in a row. The front will come through tonight and return the area to seasonable temperatures.

Cool. I played a lot in college and grad school when it first came out. I still have most of the old books, including the original three pamphlet box set. I'm fascinated that it has held interest even as the electronic gaming business replaced most of the paper and imagination versions.

It's still fun to sit together with friends and play. Kinda like when you combine an actor with an author and get to imagine all kinds of fun scenarios. I think more people would try it if they weren't afraid of being uncool or whatever. I never played D&D, but I like roleplaying games. I used to play Vampire: The Masquerade with my friends in college and online. There's some people that like to play the games online too. It's a great way to practice writing if you're into that.

Last night I had a dream in which I found myself to be a staff officer to Field Marshal Keitel, who praised the fact my beard was not painted like a rainbow, but criticized for not being a good stump orator.

Which only confirmed my belief Keitel deserved to be hanged in Nuremberg.

Congrats! My weight seems to have been in permanent stasis for years now, which, while not ideal, is perhaps better than the alternative.
