Exams are nearly done Cheesy

Also, I apparently have a positive social score now. It should be 0.00, but I tweaked one thing to get a conclusive result.

Other things happening in my boring-ass life:

-My Spotify playlist hit 1,000 songs
-I haven't been super depressed in months

Yeah.

I think I've reached the point where my anger management problems are so bad that not even pot works effectively anymore. Sad

- living full time as a woman now and it is amazing to not hate myself
- currently fending off rejection from my american christian family though
- partner has had a litanny of health issues and may be going into psych ward soon of her own volition
- finished losing weight (31 kilos GONE)
- quit drinking heavily every weekend
- quit sleeping pills
- woke as all hell
- happy to open up to more people and be friends or whatever on facebook (pm me, no creeps plz)

on my horizons:
- name change imminent
- applying for new passport (hopefully letting me change gender marker on that but who knows now)
- applying for australian citizenship
- using capital letters again
- maybe going back to school or finding a more fulfilling job

thanks for starting the new thread LLR and I loved your graph. it was like someone threw a bomb into a pile of pipe cleaners. beautiful work!

Trying to decide whether to get Tickets to see the Killers or not... have always wanted to see them but they're only performing for one day and it's 67 quid...

Edit: I bought them

Reading the first few chapters of this webcomic has made me think a lot about the concept of masculinity in a way I haven't before.

Thanks for the link. I don't find many webcomics that I like (being an old and all), but I've enjoyed the storytelling here.

I get your reasoning, but I think there's a lot to be said for how much the "coming out" movement helped the gay and lesbian cause in the United States, specifically by showing everyone that gay people don't only exist as hairdressers in San Francisco. I imagine if people knew just how many of their close acquaintances were trans, they might not be so keen to call them all molesters. Then again, I'm not LGBT or really any sort of marginalized person, so whatever floats your boat.

Eh, most of my close acquaintances IRL know I'm trans. It's the outside world that I'm afraid of. Tongue

Still gonna need help to fill out this online application; it for whatever reason presented both of my majors as different options. I think I might have to fill it out twice, but I don't *know* that.

The fact that "science" has come to the masses to mean "empirical truth regarding the natural world and technology", I have found tough to grapple with. Partly out of my own internal contrarian mechanisms, I generally view it as (A) a set of rules that may be applied to both natural and social phenomena, and (B) a specific mindset that is one aspect of the modern world and has little to do with "truth". Likewise, the fact that the People of Facebook seem to think of contradiction in politics as something novel and worth going into a rage over is proving frustrating. Nevertheless, these aren't thoughts I can spew into the public sphere due to the obvious fact that the sum total of my views, combined with my own personal demeanor, would have me branded some sort of pariah by the populist-rationalist establishment.

"Human": [shares something on Facebook about #NotMyMarch] "This is so important."
"Me": [in my head] Nothing's important.

How do the rest of you deal with the absurdity of your fellow "man"?

I honestly don't know. It's a day by day thing for me. Some days are better then others. My facebook friends list has pretty much every type of political ideologue on it (all of whom, of course, are neeeeever wrong Roll Eyes ), so I deleted my social media apps off my phone to stay sane.

I gave up smoking precisely because coughing to death with a breathing tube in my nose while these civilization-wreckers persisted was unconscionable. Otherwise, sher.

I pretend it's not there. Skim past it. Some people I get angry about, but mostly skim to the ones that outnumber that.

I have a friend who was a #NeverTrump hack who is now all of a sudden fully on board and near the front at the inauguration of course. Naturally, she will now worship him for the rest of her life. All of our liberal mutual friends gave those photos 100+ likes, and said "Oh, even though this is Trump, this is amazing! So much respect for you!" which I guess is better than the contrary. I'm not quite sure how you can show any degree of support for a cause you find to be so detestable you need to riot or whatever, most especially the one in your question. But praising their "bravery" is the other way to go - a sick way that I don't recommend.

Well, you see, doing so makes me even more offended by the terrifying immensity of unconscious participation that is the "real world", thus leading to strange rants such as these. God help us all, we don't deserve it though.

Had a huge fight today with my sister who, 13 months after I came out, has decided to inform me she'll never accept me as a woman. Because it is going against God and I need to repent. And disagreeing with her is disrespectful because she's entitled to an opinion.

Terrible, terrible day.
