Seeing Al Franken in an hour for a book talk, anyone got a good question I should ask?

"Are 2020 running you president for?"

I got the chance to ask a question. Jake Tapper had just asked him about 2020, and he flat out said No, not going to do it, and I believed him. I panicked a bit since there were a lot of people, so I asked whether he would support a Medicare for All plan if a Democrat won in 2020. He responded positively about supporting a single payer solution.

Great choice for a question, and great answer from him. Congrats! Smiley

I'm slowly beginning to pick up the 'ole keyboard again.  It's been so long since I last practiced.  So, I whipped up a short song in less than five minutes on Garageband.  I don't normally post my art or music work here, but since it's never going public/in any albums or whatever, I thought why the hell not.

http://vocaroo.com/i/s1fKzS1LTfvG

Starts off decent in the beginning, kinda goes to sht as the song progresses.  But hey, babysteps.  I apologize for any ensuing ear torture.

I'm begrudgingly a Franken fan. My friend ran the campaign against him in 2014 during the period McFadden led in the polls (when he left, the campaign plummeted) but other than that, Franken is increasingly becoming one of my favorite opposition figures.

...I got cocky enough to pull the most teenage thing one could do with a car...it was just a split second, but that was all it took.

9 fecking months...already fecked up.

Nobody got hurt, and my own ride was virtually undamaged this time...but f^&*!, another point.

Got a 4-top today that is on vacation from London, I ended up talking to them about politics, 3 were Labour supporters and one was Lib Dem, all 4 sent in postals for Labour. They're all from Croydon North's constituency and told me the expect a Tory majority much greater than 2015's result and they all don't like Corbyn, they think he is too left wing but can't stand the Liberal Democrats or Tories.

I got an unexpected opportunity today. One of the jobs I applied for called me. Apparently it's a temporary position as a laborer at an ANG base 36 minutes northeast of me. The woman asked me to accept now (before the official offer) and I told her I couldn't do that owing to my lack of details. I checked my online job applications, and there are two positions I was "referred" for that match that description. The one that is explicitly temporary posts a (relatively) very high pay, which is something I want to confirm. She has yet to email me information about a physical, but I plan to seek more info should that occur. Meanwhile, there are some new (white collar) slots up online I need to apply for.

I'm currently eating a baguette with salad, tomatoes, cheese and a good sauce.

Tasty.

Tried to call the recruiter back to confirm some details, but the number is either busy or doesn't work. Guess I'm stuck waiting in her email. I made sure to say I still wanted to see the official offer, so she better not have taken my reluctance/surprise the wrong way.
