Most of the data I have are because I split it up into 10-page blocks:

Don't you have better things to do?

Several days ago the person who I liked came out to the world as a trans guy. Surprisingly, his parents were accepting of him.

That's great his parents were so accepting of him! I know that's quite a rare thing for parents to be so understanding of something like that. Do you know if he likes you back?
There is no evidence to support this claim?

My best friend, who is a lesbian (or says she is), is now dating a friend of mine (a guy), who apparently broke up with another female friend of mine, because she wanted to be with someone else. Ugh.

What is the problem here?

It's just really strange feeling, she changed her sexuality, etc. and I have to deal with the relationship's consequences. Tongue
Yeah, it is her lifestyle choice.

Some of the aging conservatives at my church are honestly pretty terrible. I chose this religious community for myself and so I believe I'm obliged to cherish and to some extent defend it, but some of them make it pretty hard. A lot of these people are wonderful but some are simply garden-variety post-truth goons and it can get pretty damn frustrating.

Any chance you could be able engage some of them in a serious conversation and help them see things from your perspective? Not necessarily convince them, but at least build a bridge of some kind. I think you're one of the leftists on this forum who would be most capable to do that.
lol.

Welp. It's time to get ready for school and the alcohol isn't out yet. I'm way more sober then I was, and I can probably make myself look sober in public, but it's still unpleasant. Doesn't help that I got so little sleep last night.

I once spent a whole day in HS still being booz'd. Good ole times.
Just one day? Weak!

For some reason unknown I'm reminded of this great Prince Regent's quote from Blackadder: "You know, Blackadder, for me socks are like sex. Tons of it about and I never seem to get any."

I'm wearing a pair of brand new Pantherellas right now. Smiley

My mom vaguely threatened to kick me out of the house if I were a Republican - I mean, thankfully I'm not but it still makes me sort of uncomfortable.
Technically, as you're not voting age, it is impossible for you to be a Republican.

"Technically" I'm "unenrolled." Nobody uses political terms "technically."

If Winston Churchill thought that people who were conservative before twenty didn't have hearts, and people who were liberal after forty didn't have brains, I can't imagine what he would say about Atlas's libertarian teenagers. Tongue
Most of them wouldn't know what liberty looked like if it was right in front of their eyes.

@Cathy: Pretty sure it does.

Anyone ever wonder when was the last time Jimmy and Rosylynn Carter did the do? I'm guessing 1991.
What on earth does "did the do" mean?
You see, when two people love each other very much...
