My second semester started this week, and one of my new classes is AP Human Geography. The teacher is some ditzy cheerleading coach.

Today, she was showing us a PowerPoint of different "regions" in the United States and which areas they cover, like the Bible Belt in the South and the Corn Belt in the Midwest.

When we got to the Rust Belt, she asked the class if anyone knew how the region got its name. I raised my hand and said "manufacturing and industrial decline," which is the obvious correct answer. She said, "no, it's because it's cold in the north and when snow melts on your car it turns the metal into rust."

Unbelievable.

I've been awarded a $1000 scholarship through my school's radio station. I was told my essay for the scholarship was heartfelt, and my interview was genuine. I'm extremely proud of myself.

I went to this really rad video game/comic/general nerd shop about half an hour away from school with my friends today and it was really awesome. I've been in a genuinely good mood for the last few weeks consistently. Still some down moments, but they are much fewer and further between. I'm enjoying the little things more.

Yesterday, I had VIP tickets to see Dance Gavin Dance, Chon, Eidola, and Vasudeva in Lancaster, and that show was absolutely mindblowing. It was the first time I'd ever seen Dance Gavin Dance, and I got to meet them as well. Afterwards, my girlfriend picked me up and slept over, which is always a super nice feeling. I just felt so full of love the whole night and every morning that I wake up next to her, I'm so happy.
