Very small crowds. How does it compare with the Bush inaugurations?

I don't know about Bush's, but here is Obama's side-by-side with Trump's:

it was a peaceful transfer of power.  That probably comes as a disappointment to some, but I think it's swell.

Obama and his wife seemed a bit stoic, maybe depressed, as they bade Trump and his wife farewell.  I suppose Obama's legacy will be stripped bare within the next couple of months.  That's probably a frustrating thought for him.

Guys, that was a horrendous speech. One of the worst ever. He put literally zero effort into it to make it meaningful. Pretty shameful tbh

Yep. One can tell that he wrote it in the last minute.

Tv coverage here in Portugal is shocked by the speech. One guy said it was the least elegant speech ever.
Also, a commentator just said this speech resembles Nazi Germany!!! God!! Seriously, here everyone is speechless.

What about his speech resembles Nazi Germany? I'm refusing to watch it, so I have no clue what's said aside from what's on Atlas.
The commentator stressed the "Buy American and hire American" line and something Trump said about God running the country. I personally didn't related that to Nazi Germany, but the guy on TV was just haunted.

Honestly, it was the worst speech I have heard of any president. It wasn't actually an inaugural address, it was a campaign speech.

His speech was basically an airing of the grievances of rural America

What he said is what I've heard thousands of times while driving through rural America

In some ways its said because Trump really won't be able to make their lives better

Correct.

If Austria is an example, there's some potential for Trump to f**k things up really badly and enable a Democratic comeback in 2018 and 2020.

If rural voters get a grasp of the corruption and inefficiency in the next years, similar to our right-wing government after 2000, they might wipe Trump and Republicans out in these years, especially if Trump fails to deliver for rural voters ...

But Democrats should not implode themselves and certainly shouldn't nominate Hillary again. Ever.

Poor lady. Her time was probably truly 2004. She could have beaten W/Cheney/Rove.

The guy exagerated a lot, i know, but if you had seen his face... he was shattered. Right now they have an economist saying that if Apple decides to move their factories to America, you guys should get ready to pay more than 1,000 dollares for an Iphone...

Which wouldn't be a problem if Americans, especially the working poor, were actually paid better for their labor. Good thing Trump and the GOP also champion living wage laws, higher wages, and over time pay! Oh, wait...

It's time to simply move on. Obama is a good man, but he had questionable people around him. That ends, today.
