1 - the country doesn't care. They expect him to be sued for everything under the sun and then some.  I think 40% of the country is fully prepared for the revelation he did in fact sexually assault someone, including 80% of his supporters. The defense when this comes out (if it does) will be amazing to watch.

2 - Neither Trump or his people care, on some level. I think they live in their own bubble, where nothing goes wrong.
