Sometimes, but I look to God in those times and find peace knowing that the Almightky Creator of the Universe is with me always. Of course though I feel lonely. It's only natural.

Not now. I'm part of a community, and have a partner and we love each other.  So I'm very fortunate. But in the past, yes from time to time. Heck, I lived alone for 30 years. I "connected" as it were through work, and my legal colleagues mostly.

Getting in tune with my sexuality was also obviously a big factor. There is no doubt in my mind that  the acceptance out there on the Fruited Plain by and large of one's sexual choices, and hard wiring, has dramatically improved the lives of millions of folks, many of whom were tortured souls.

 The moral of the story is that it is never too late to get a life.

I don't mind being alone, but I HATED living alone.  Getting sick and living by myself was scary.

as for the OP, I spend a lot of time alone, but I have a family and a coworkers that I see daily.

I can't fix anyone and nobody can fix me either. Also, I certainly agree with you about this forum and certainly there are many here who simply "don't care". Just because I can't change that doesn't mean it isn't a problem.

People do desire community and that's why some people are here. Online community is a poor
substitute for real community. As you may have discerned I do have a pessimistic view of human beings and what they are willing to do for one another.

Thanks for this. It is good to know. Personally, if I make it to retirement, it will be easier to "get a life". Unfortunately, having to spend so much time at work has drained me of an optimism that I might have otherwise have had, so never tell me "money can't buy happiness". Most people don't really believe that anyway.
