I'm trying to figure out the meaning of life. The logical step is to ask a bunch of people I never meet in RL for help.

I've always wondered why people ask about the meaning of life. What would you alter about your life if you were to find out that, say, the meaning of life is to acquire as much knowledge as possible? Weren't you already trying (or maybe not trying) to do that?

A better question is what happens after death. That's the one universal unknown that I wish I knew the answer to.

The meaning of life is to search for meaning. Read this book. Aren't you glad you asked Kal? Smiley

You yourself have to give your life a meaning. It's up to you.

As a religious person, of course I have to say the meaning of life is 'know, love, and serve God in this world and the next.'

That said, I always think of this quote when that question comes along:

"I don't know why we are here, but I'm pretty sure that it is not in order to enjoy ourselves."

Why not?

There's no answer to this question. What's more important is the meaning of your life.

No.  The meaning of life is tofu.

A secondary definition would be:

The meaning of life is a blank book sitting at the bottom of the septic tank below your house.  You have to go through some sh**t to get it.

Man, having no meaning in life, can only seek purpose in its antithesis.

Seek happiness until your day of wrath.

Probably the only time I have really been able to answer that question was after I had children. They provide a lot of purpose. Whether that translates to meaning is another question.
