These seem to be most talked about early possible contenders for the 2020 Dem Nomination.

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT)
Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA)
Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA)
Sen. Cory Booker  (D-NJ)
Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH)
Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN)
Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D-NY)
Gov. Steve Bullock   (D-MT)
Gov. Roy Cooper       (D-NC)
VP Joe Biden         (D-DE)

For me, its Brown-->Warren/Sanders-->Klobuchar-->Harris-->Bullock/Cooper-->Biden-->Cuomo-->Booker

Open to lots of movement for 8 and under. Booker and Cuomo would need to do something landmark-worthy to make me reconsider.

Hmmm....

Can see myself supporting in a primary:
1. Biden
2. Klobuchar
3. Harris
4. Brown
5. Warren
6. Booker

Would vote for in a general, but probably wouldn't support in a primary:
7. Bullock
8. Cooper
9. Sanders
10. Cuomo

1. None of the above

Goodness, if that's our extremely early field of possible candidates, Trump could easily win in 2020. Surely there's better "rising star" candidates in the party?

Also, I don't get this forum's fascination with Kamala Harris other than her alleged monicker as "the female Barack Obama." Did she actually accomplish something during her tenure as attorney general?

NYT put out a list last year of 14 young rising stars (albeit I've never heard of some them):
1. Stacey Abrams, Minority Leader of the Georgia House of Representatives
2. Mayor Pete Buttigieg (D-South Bend, Ind.)
3. Julian Castro
4. Tulsi Gabbard
5. Mayor Eric Garcetti (D-Los Angeles)
6. Mayor Andrew Gillum (D-Tallahassee)
7. U.S. Representative Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.)
8. State Senator Mike Johnston of Colorado
9. U.S. Representative Joe Kennedy (D-Mass., 4th District)
10. U.S. Representative Seth Moulton (D-Mass., 6th District)
11. Former U.S. Representative Patrick Murphy (D-Fla.), but I guess since he lost to Little Marco..
12. City Councilmember Ayanna Pressley of Boston
13. Gov. Gina Raimondo (D-R.I.)
14. City Council President Michelle Wu of Boston

I like Garcetti and Moulton on that list.

1. Sherrod Brown
2. Steve Bullock
3. [John Hickenlooper](I'm sure he will run)
4. Roy Cooper
5. Elizabeth Warren (I love her, and she would be a great President, but she would also be an awful candidate. She doesn't have any charisma. She would be a great VP pick for pretty much anyone though)
6. Bernie Sanders and Joe Biden (They are too old. It's time to retire now.)
7. Amy Klobuchar (I don't really know her to be honest.)
8. Cory Booker and Andrew Cuomo (I would vote for them against any Republican, but they can't count on my vote in a primary.) Edit : Also, Kamala Harris. As AG of California she failed to prosecute Mnuchin's obvious fraudulent foreclosures. This scream corruption or collusion to me.

Wait, is this about who we want as the nominee or who we want as President? Because my list would be totally different if it's the latter.

I was really impressed with... Mayor Pete Buttigieg (D-South Bend, Ind.)... at the DNC Chair Debate.  I really could see him being the 1st Gay Pres/VP ... in 8-12 years (I think he is 35).

He also has an interesting Background:
An Iraq War Veteran... who is Gay, enjoys Hunting, Harvard Grad, Rhodes Scholar, etc

The initial question was meant to be only related to the primaries. I realize this isnt any sort of definitive list obviously.. There will be people on this who dont run and people off this who do.

I understand... and posted my rank of the List earlier in the thread (Cory Booker and Sherrod Brown were my top 2)... I was just commenting on a post.

Warren - Next Progressive Leader

Brown - He needs to win in 2018 first

Biden - Can connect to working class

Harris - Untested on a national scale

Bullock - Could connect well with middle America

Sanders - He had his shot and he has a lot of possible baggage

Klobuchar - I have issues with her support for anti-Internet policies

Cooper - I don't know that much about him and I think he might do better to run for NC-Gov in 2020

Booker - Charter school support and friendliness to Wall Street

Cuomo - Crooked Cuomo
