Savor tonight. Remember it well enough that you can think back years from now. Things are going to get a lot darker from here.

The next decade and a half...I mean, wow, I always thought I'd live in the center of something massive, but not cataclysmic.

Take down a bunch of statistics of your life right now, so that when you're asked if you're better off than you were four years ago, it isn't guess work.

Well, if the world wasn't "laughing at us" before, they certainly are now.

Well no, but I'm assuming the civil war will start soon after he refuses to leave.

Yawn.

Obama was a 4.5/10. Not great, not disastrous.

Trump will be a 5.5/10. He'll play it safe, won't make any huge disastrous moves. He won't keep any of his campaign promises of course, but if you took those seriously you were a chump. He'll keep the media obsessing over the huge disastrous moves he wants them to think he's going to make, and that nonstop circus will continue to be annoying, but an increasingly annoying media isn't the end of the world.

What I'm really happy about is knowing Joe Biden will be gone. Thank God.

1. What about what you describes is worthy of a 5.5 and not, like a 3?

2. What do you have against Biden?

1. I believe Trump will try to keep things basically stable so he can do the one or two things he seems to actually care about (e.g. renegotiating trade deals or whatever), which are things the average person doesn't care about or even know anything about.

Stability means a lot of problems in this country won't be actively addressed, but it also means they won't get worse, and a few might even go away on their own. Plus remember, "Not making problems worse" is pretty good for a president. So he gets a 5.5.

2. Joe Biden is the very picture of a snaky career politician--he's maybe the snakiest of them all--so he's got that going for him, but he also is the person who took civil asset forfeiture from being this scrapped unconstitutional legal idea that nobody would touch, and he made it into the primary way the government fights the war on drugs. And then look at how this scumbag presents himself!
