Getting married (though not to each other, ftr) seems like the obvious play for both of these guys, since the country may very well be even less tolerant of electing a bachelor president than they were in the 1850s with James Buchanan.  Maybe it’ll be a non-issue, but maybe it won’t be.  And better safe than sorry.

Cuomo would presumably marry long-time domestic partner Sandra Lee, while Booker is apparently dating ”Millenial Oprah” Cleo Wade.

Cuomo has been with the same woman for 12 years, so I doubt it would be a big deal for him to marry if politically expedient. When Trump ran for President in 1999, he said he could marry Melania  if necessary (they married 6 years later).

Whether or not the candidates are married has nothing to do with their ability to serve as President. Trump proved that voters don't care about the candidate's personal lives but whether or not they will make their own lives better, and what is far more important is whether Cuomo or Booker will be able to make a convincing case to the American people that they are on their side and can make America better.

Yeah, but now he's with Cleo Wade:

I would not vote for an unmarried President unless I suspected they were closeted, in which case I would respect their decision and consider it.

Cuomo can't get married again in the Church, which is probably the problem there. I don't see it happening unless he gets some kind of dispensation.

Booker...I think it's far more likely he comes out of the closet and runs as the historic first gay candidate than that he gets married.

He might be. I don't know if it will will matter in the general, if he runs. He may not be seen as "black" to some black voters.

I know he was never serious, but Lindsey Graham would probably have gotten "married" if his presidential bid went anywhere

Eh, Tilden never married and he got more votes.

Trump's been twice divorced.

Stevenson was just divorced.

And Cleveland waited until he won election, slid in as a bachelor, and got married in office.

JFK was a swingin' bachelor for a long time, then he up and married Jackie...still had affairs though.

...In short, not sure what the problem here really is.

If true, that might spoil his chances of winning the black church vote in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, and Virginia.

Who would be the presidential candidate? Would they run together like Frank and Claire Underwood?
