No way Trump and Schumer are good friends. Trump is an America first extremist with neo-fascist tendencies, so there is no way he could be good friends with a liberal Jewish American senator.

Something something hitler.

Not as close as Shumer and Trump.  The point is, these guys aren't as far apart on things as rhetoric would have you believe.  Expect him to MAKE GREAT DEALS AGAIN, including with Shumer on a nominee for SCOTUS.  One that will save face for Shumer so he can bitch and moan all over TV but get the nominee through.

i agree in general which is why i am still not sure which side is going to win over trump's ear in the end.

i would still bet on the generic republican position regarding all questions not directly connected with trump's political core. (which, as silly as it sound, doesn't seem to be the wall/DACA)

i disagree regarding the SCOTUS....trump knows this is much too important for his voters and if he delivers, they will shut up and put up with nearly anything.

otherwise...i would love for schumer to make a little fight out of it and force republicans to do away with the filibuster completely.

Sounds like you are quoting Trump. Did you have a point, or were you just spouting nonsense like he does?

He hasn't done anything to significantly affect the market/economy yet, so yes, thanks OBAMA.

I made a small edit on my original post so that you understand why I used suspension points. Your point makes no sense by the way. In the same way that the economy was still bad in Obama's first few months, the inverse applies to Trump.

Markets react to what they think will happen, not what has happened.  Oil prices are the same way.  Some loonie in the middle east causes troubles and the prices shoot up because they think there will be a problem.  Our loonie, so far, isn't upsetting the market.

So the stock market is how we judge presidents now? If the Dow hits 40,000 then he's as good as Obama on that front. Smiley

I remember the first time the stock market hit 14,000 a few years ago and it didn't seem to gel with reality even then.

This does not seem sustainable. This feels like a bubble. It should not be this high.

An America with lower taxes, less regulation, investment in domestic energy and infrastructure is an environment for economic growth. Investor feel more confident and the market soars. Makes perfect sense to me.

you think an america in which the president could call you  - as a business leader -out every time for some real or imagined minor slight is a place for investors?

This is a foreign concept to leftists, as evidenced by their contention that drilling in the present to increase future oil supply has no effect on present oil prices.

This may be one of the few times where I find myself agreeing with Trump's actions:

I wonder if he knows that HHS is still running ads encouraging people to enroll in the ACA.......he most certainly would end any media contracts they entered into.

The White House
Office of the Press Secretary
For Immediate Release January 27, 2017
Statement by the President on International Holocaust Remembrance Day

“It is with a heavy heart and somber mind that we remember and honor the victims, survivors, heroes of the Holocaust. It is impossible to fully fathom the depravity and horror inflicted on innocent people by Nazi terror.

“Yet, we know that in the darkest hours of humanity, light shines the brightest.‎ As we remember those who died, we are deeply grateful to those who risked their lives to save the innocent.

“In the name of the perished, I pledge to do everything in my power throughout my Presidency, and my life, to ensure that the forces of evil never again defeat the powers of good. Together, we will make love and tolerance prevalent throughout the world.”
