JTC: End the lawsuit against Ben,, and apologize.

Ben: Call a new vote, 48 hours. End the lawsuits against me.

Everyone is sick and tired of shenanigans and tomfoolery.

This. Of course, you guys could keep acting like fools and let me remain speaker until May, but we don't want that, do we? Wink

I'll withdraw the case if Ben holds another vote.

We literally cannot certify this election, Cuber. With you taking it up to Brase, you've taken it out of my hands. So long as your challenge is up there, I can't start a revote, I can't start anything.

Do you understand that?

I agree with what the Governor just stated.

Also, I suggest that you all amend the rules regarding speaker elections to specify when voters can edit their ballot and when a Speaker's term has actually ended.

okay, fair enough

I withdraw this case conditional on Delegate Ben Kenobi calling for a re-vote in the next two hours with the condition that no vote shall be invalidated without breaking a rule clearly stated in the original post calling for a re-vote.

If fhtagn decides to run for Speaker I will re-consider my run.

Apologies for my edit, it was just to fix a typo with my own name since I voted on my phone, which is harder than using my laptop.

I go away for a few hours and sh*t literally hit the fan lol

Also I'm humbled that so many support me for Speaker, but I feel it's unfair to Diptheriadan and JustinTimeCuber who have been working hard to gain support for the position, as well as announced their candidacy on time. Perhaps the next cycle if I'm lucky enough to not get ousted.

I conditionally withdrew JustinTimeCuber v. Ben Kenobi, with conditions laid out on that thread.

Thank you for that, it allowed me and NeverAgain to start working on the rule changes.

Right now, I am currently waiting on Leinad's approval of Nev's rule changes and we'll go ahead with a revote.

I can't just do it unilaterally, Cuber.

So I'm a little confused as to how this process will work going forward, as many different solutions have come forward in the replies as to what the next step for this election is.

Given the amount of support I've received from both sides of the aisle, I'm willing to reconsider the stance on my interest in the Speaker position if the rules allow (which at this point still seems to be a bit unclear).

I motion for unanimous consent to allow Ben Kenobi to run an election for Speaker, with a 24 hour nomination period and 48 hour vote, unless all Delegates vote in under 48 hours.

Let's just say 12 hours to object, fair enough?

Well, that's what Nev and Leinad are working on, fixing the rules. If you're willing to stand as Speaker you'll be on the ballot.

Just getting caught up with everyone else.

Here's the plan. Former AG Leinad will go over Nev's rules.

I will put up a motion of unanimous consent for the rule changes after Leinad does so to permit us to change the rules permitting a revote.

With Nev and Leinad's support I don't see delegates (including myself) opposing the changes.

I second Cuber's motion.

Should we decide to do this, I am also announcing my candidacy for Speaker.

Ok, Delegate Cuber's unanimous motion, seconded by delegate fhtagn to permit me to run a revote will have, oh, say, 18 hours till 6pm CST, March 25th for objections to be raised to the motion.

If after 18 hours no objections are raised, I will run a revote, with the stated nomination period an the voting period.
