I attended one in Raleigh, NC and it was well-attended (I heard 17,000) and fun.

They are claiming 15,000 in Nashville.  I thought about going in a pro-life t-shirt and anti-PP stuff to protest, but I decided to sleep in on my Saturday.  I'll give you liberals credit, you got your people excited for this.

Hillary Rodham Clinton's loss last November may yet be a blessing-in-disguise.

How so? Yes, it does mobilize feminists and leftists, but Repubs have control of the Presidency (and soon the Supreme Court), the U.S. Senate, the U.S. House, most Governors, and most state legislatures likely for four years. The damage will be worse than any benefits caused by leftist activism.

2018 is an important year for control of the next round of redistricting. Democrats are probably better positioned to over-perform in the states since there will be so many open gubernatorial races. Studies do show that peoples opinion of the incumbent president heavily affects their vote at the state level, so an unpopular Trump could lead to a bad GOP year in legislative/gubernatorial races. This would leave them unable to rig maps en masse in 2021-2022 and thus weaken their grip on the House and various state houses for the 2020s (or longer). I'd also argue that the House is not as unreachable as many suggest, but that is an argument better had closer to the midterms, when we have a better idea of what the political environment will be like.

Real men don't talk about "toxic masculinity". We know clearly who the alpha males and the beta males are.

Also, I love kindness. But you can't be kind to everyone. You can't be kind to rapists, terrorists, criminals, thugs. Extreme tolerance gave us 9/11.

Protests are good, free speech, but these leftists don't get it. Lovey-lovey and tolerance doesn't work all the time. Tolerance gave us 9/11/01, 3/11/2004, 7/7/05, 11/13/2015, 12/2/2015.

There comes a time where you have to protect the country from criminals and terrorists. Embracing every trash to come in your country won't make you safe, either. You can't embrace everyone.

Looks like our side won the PV again. Wink

I've said it before and I'll say it again: If opposition to Trump is ignored, mocked, and belittled, it's only going to get stronger and angrier.

What was Gandi's quote again? "First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win"?

Gandhi got shot dead and the partition of India cost hundreds of thousands of lives. Pretty pyrrhic victory.

Also, all these celebs going along will get a reaction from some "They're going to Washington DC to protest against the President. I wish I could afford to go to Washington DC for a visit".

What does "love conquers all" mean? Sounds like Christian apocalypticism, not something you'd hear from your boilerplate (materialist) left-winger. And what type of love? Sexual love? I suppose in some truly morbid sense, yes, it destroys all of us. Love of money? It surely conquers some. Compassionate love? Not really. If anything, death conquers all.

The size of these marches is ridiculous. I am floored and ecstatic over the huge amount of people organized in opposition to Trump.

So what does everyone think will be the overall impact of the Women's March?  Will it be like the ephemeral Occupy Wall Street rallies of a few years ago, or could this be the moment the Democratic version of the Tea Party movement was born?

-The Tea Party only succeeded because Obama did a Hillaryesque healthcare fail.

If Hillary's potential voters in Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin had been this motivated or this enthusiastic on election day, Hillary would be President today.

There's nothing that says 'I should be seen as a person not a sex object' quite like pinning a pink plastic vagina to your shirt.

I'm happy to see such a locus of resistance form, even if it's not my perfect ideal kind of resistance.

If it helps, the Babylon Bee satirizes a lot of conservative Christian attitudes too.

Don't you just love how swearing has become a substitute for argument amongst some circles, and yet they somehow consider their behavior sophisticated? Wink
