Name the top 10 horrible Democratic candidates over the past 10 years who squandered the Democratic Party's opportunity at winning a Senate seat, House seat, Presidential Candidate or Vice Presidential Candidate

A couple I think of:

1. Martha Coakley (D-Mass.) Former Massachusetts Attorney General, 2007-2015. Lost special Senate election in 2010 to fill deceased Sen. Ted Kennedy's seat to Republican Scott Brown's populist appeal.
Lost 2014 Massachusetts governor's election in 2014 to Republican Charlie Baker.
2. Alex Sink (D-Florida) Former Chief Financial Officer (like a State Auditor or Comptroller), 2007-2011. Lost 2010 Florida governor's election to Republican Rick Scott.
Lost special House election FL-13 in 2014 to Republican David Jolly.

Can you think of some more? I'll make a Republican thread soon.

Bruce Braley was pretty bad. I mean, mocking someone for being just a "farmer from Iowa", while running for office in Iowa, is just unbelievably bad.

In Kentucky Bob Farmer 1-upped Braley in 2011 (the last hurrah for KY Democrats):

I remember clips from this being on television.

Neither were winnable, just look at the margins. KY polling is always garbage.

Uh, no. Kentucky is a red state.

Honestly, the fact that Democrats remained in power for so long in Kentucky is a major accomplishment.

Doug Owens here in Utah's 4th congressional district, though I wouldn't say "horrible", just "not good enough".

Back when Rocky Anderson ran for Congress in the 90s though, he was an awful candidate.

I actually agree with the VT Dem here. Name calling and profanity like that is never called for and Secretary  Clinton deserves our respect, despite disagreeing with her policies and questioning her ethical decisions.

Well, you literally called her a b***h. I highly doubt you'd have said similar things if Hillary was a man.

1. Martha Coakley: Squandered a Senate race that was a shoo-in for her early on, then lost a governor's race that, while no slam dunk, she easily could have won.

2. Anthony Brown: Similar situation to Coakley's Senate race.  Started out as a shoo-in, but got cocky and didn't keep the momentum going to Election Day.

3. Alvin Greene: He literally came out of nowhere and returned to nowhere shortly thereafter.  But the Democrats had much chance of winning that contest anyway.

4. Jack Conway: He never stood much chance against Rand Paul, but he literally defeated himself against Bevin.  He didn't try hard enough to distance himself from Obama and didn't emphasize his moderate credentials.

5. Virg Bernero: Sure, the GOP had an edge going into the 2010 Michigan governor's race, but Bernero was such a weak candidate who completely lacked any charisma or stamina.  He threw away what little chance the Democrats had at winning that race.  If Whitmer is nominated in 2018, it will happen again.

6. Alison Lundergan Grimes: Tried too hard to distance herself from Obama.  Might have beaten McConnell in any other year.

7. Pat Quinn: Won in 2010 by the barest of margins, and only by virtue of the GOP nominating an even weaker candidate.  (Had Jim Ryan been nominated, Quinn would've been toast then.)  Not surprisingly, his already dismal job approval got worse, and he was kicked to the curb four years later.

8. Tom Barrett: I have to wonder what was going through Wisconsin Democrats' heads during the recall vote on Scott Walker.  "Hmm, we have a great chance to beat Scott Walker with all the angry union voters trying to recall him.  Who will we nominate?  I know!  Let's nominate the same guy he beat two years ago!"  And predictably, the result was the same.

9. Libby Mitchell: Don't blame Eliot Cutler for Paul LePage's election; blame it on the incredibly weak campaign the Democratic candidate ran against both of them in 2010.  She placed a distant third in the general election.

10. Baron Hill: Any candidate who lets his party's leadership push him aside so they can draft their preferred candidate who had shown no previous interest, then come up with the excuse that "I had no chance of winning anyway" was never much of a candidate in the first place.

10.

Jack Conway, for losing two winnable elections.

Uh, no. Kentucky is a red state.
It may be red in presidential contests, but it's still close at the state level.  Democrats still hold two statewide offices there, and controlled most of state politics for decades prior to that.  Conway had a great chance to win due to his moderate credentials and history of winning statewide campaigns for AG, plus the fact that Democrats in Kentucky are much stronger at the state level than federally.

Alison Losergan Grimes, Anthony Brown, and Ed Fitzgerald definitely deserve a mention.
IIRC, Kasich's job approval started rebounding before FitzGerald's scandals broke.  It's doubtful he would ever have won in that situation.
