Let's look at Obama's 2008 primary map.

Remember this Obama?

Obama v. Hillary 2008

Sanders v. Hillary 2016

Obama's 2008 primary coalition was basically left-wing anti-war/anti-trade dems  (berniebros) + african-americans (not even Hispanics). Hillary won most moderates. How does Booker appeal to the left-wing? when he thinks Obama was too left and slammed Obama for making attacks against Bain, those attacks, if anything, only helped Obama.

Hillary 2016 was basically Obama 2008 plus a few of her original states. So I don't see what your point is, because both paths are probably what would take Booker to the nomination anyways, especially if he can consolidate the South.

No, it's more like Sanders 2016 was Obama 2008 minus the South, like I said, Obama's win was due to African-Americans + those left-wing dems. It was the left-wing dems that pushed Obama over the edge in 2008, he needed both left-wingers + african americans to beat hillary's moderate coalition. The Hispanics in the SW voted for Hillary on both counts.

His point is that while Obama 2008 and Clinton 2016 both won blacks, Booker is more likely to get the non-black voters Clinton 2016 appealed to than the non-black voters Obama 2008 appealed to.
