Just came out two days ago, not at all surprising. The people of Ohio and Wisconsin need to wake up and vote their almost-socialist Senators out!

LOL What makes you think Wisconsin and Ohio don't want a socialist Senator?  If the Democrats had run a socialist for President they would have kicked Trump's sorry a** in the Rust Belt/Midwest.

They are compassionate people who don't want an oppressive government causing mass suffering, and they love their babies, police officers and their guns.

Yes I am. If the incumbents were, say, Ron Kind and Ted Strickland, I would not be saying that. The wing of the Democratic Party to which Brown and Baldwin belong has gone off the deep end, and they are probably way to the left of the average voter of their states.

America needs to go back to viewing socialism as a dirty word, because it is.

Seriously, the people saying Democrats have gone insane apparently haven't realized that half of America thinks Republicans are insane for putting a reality TV star in the White House. Lmao.

You are absolutely correct. But it must be added that half of America views Democratic party and it's candidates exactly the same way. Country is split - ideologically (because of growing polarization extremists in both parties play more and more important role every passing year). culturally, and in many other ways. In Russia it was "Reds" ws "Whites" during Civil War after 1917 coup, now, it seems, it's America's time. Good if a lot of bloodshed will be avoided...

Brown and Baldwin are not socialists, not even by association. Warren is, everyone knows she wanted to endorse Sanders but the party forced her to stay silent. But thankfully this nation will never elect her as President.

Sherrod Brown's actually quite well liked in Ohio.

"Compassionate people" - informed ones, at least - don't support the social darwinist policies advocated by the Republican Party. And you do realize that socialists support gun ownership, right?

FTR, Socialism in America is inevitable.
Scoialism causes mass suffering. Come on, everybody knows that.
Some support gun ownership, others don't.

I never said that they are, but basically they're as close to being socialists as one can be while still being a capitalist. I just hate Senators from R+1 and R+4 states who vote like their states are D+25.

We'll see if that carries over next year. I'm honestly starting to get very scared a bout what may happen if Ellison does take over at the DNC.

Re: the bolded section: You mean you think he'll be a strong DNC Chair?  Interesting.  In any event, OH isn't gonna swing b/c of who runs the DNC.  National-level fundraising may not be as good, but no one except rich donors and political types know or care who runs the DNC and RNC.

I think Ellison would actually be a very strong DNC chair, as he'll fire up the progressive base, which is disproportionately young and clearly the future of the Democratic Party.

Excellent, first step in moving the Overton Window away from the toxicity of Reaganomics.

Neoliberal trite has been awful for the Democratic Party in the Midwest. Brown is far from a socialist, but he has the right New Deal/Labor message for Ohio, economically.

I don't think it's accurate to describe Brown and Baldwin as "socialist." Progressive/very liberal? Sure. But what's wrong with that? Johnson and Rubio are extremely conservative, and I doubt any Republican has a problem with them representing swing states, so why shouldn't swing states have some very liberal Senators as well? Anyway, Brown is definitely vulnerable, but I don't think Mandel is the best candidate for Republicans. Baldwin is somewhat vulnerable, but I'm not sure why there's so much Duffy hype. obviously doomed, since last year Wisconsin magically transformed into a dark red state which is unwinnable for Democrats, so she'll lose by double digits. Pity.
