How has your ideology or view of your ideology changed over the past few years or so? I don't think my ideology has changed a lot, but where I perceive myself to be compared to others has fluctuated quite a bit. Obviously, I'm on the left compared to the American populace, but I used to think that I was "as liberal as they come." After going to grad school and spending some time with the undergrads of today, I can see that it's definitely possible to be more liberal than I am. Compared to some of the people I met, I almost felt conservative at times.

No significant change. The only major thing is that I decided that life ethics extends beyond the ProLife movement into other spheres.

I'd say I'm trying to shed the substrate of postmodern liberal elitism that I've accumulated over the years and returning to my leftist (dare I say socialist?) roots.

Saying "more liberal" makes no sense in that context, but you know what I mean.

I've definitely become considerably more socially liberal over the past couple of years. I'm now a strong supporter of social justice, multiculturalism, and so on.

Economically, however, I've probably gotten a bit more conservative. I'm still very liberal, but I wouldn't classify myself as an outright Socialist on economics anymore. So I'm probably center-left on economic issues. This also applies to foreign policy, as I've become considerably more internationalist and supportive of organizations such as NATO.

I am what I am. Have been what I have been for many years.

The world, though, has become very hostile to people like me. I hear that.

I've moderated on economics, so I guess I'm "more liberal" by this polls standards, though in a way I'm actually less liberal on economics. Of course, I'm still far more liberal/conservative on economics than left-wing. Does all that make sense? Tongue

More hawkish, slightly more conservative economically, a wash on social issues. On total, very slightly more conservative.

I have gotten less Republican, though.

Over the last two years since I joined Atlas: No real change

But, if you go back four or five years, I would have a slightly different position on stuff like drug legalization and prostitution ("I think they are wrong, and I would never do it, but they shouldn't be banned", whereas, now, I think they should be banned).  I also used to not care about the issue of gay marriage (although my kneejerk reaction was always negative when I would hear of efforts to allow it), one way or the other, and now I'm staunchly opposed to it, but I don't know that SCOTUS is overturning Obergefell anytime soon.  I suppose you could also say that I've become more conservative in actively opposing all "transgender" efforts, but that is more because it wasn't an issue until this last year or two, because no one actually thought "transgenderism" was a real thing then (which I still don't).

The biggest change, for me, though, is that, apart from abortion (which has always been my #1 issue), I used to care more about economic issues, but now I care more about social issues, even though I haven't moderated at all on economics- I just find conservative values more pressing and think that they are more under threat right now.

I'm still a centrist, but I've shifted *very slightly* to the left.

Slightly more liberal, in particular on environmental issues, one of the few domains in which I share common ground with many of Trump's staunchest critics.

More economically left wing, and more socially right wing. American nationalism is really starting to grow on me.

I've drifted towards the left but in a conservative direction, if that makes sense. I'm chiefly concerned with social breakdown these days and how liberal economic policy has propelled this social breakdown. I'm as concerned with equality as I've ever been but I'm now realizing that equality demands that we take the desire for stability and security seriously. The commodification of land and labor bears unpleasant costs and consequences. When we see people as factors of production to be moved by markets, we miss something and, perhaps, we allow for their lives to be ruined.

I'm still liberal but in a more basic sense. I'm more intense about basic liberal freedoms and a basic framework of political liberalism than I've ever been but I'm more flexible about its interpretation now.
