Self-identification - not necessarily legal affiliation

What you identified as on Election Day in 2014 vs what you identify as today, in that format.

I was an Independent back in 2014, when I became old enough to vote.

I then transitioned into being a Republican over the next two years, but switched back to being an Independent after the GOP primaries. (Trump won and Kasich dropped out)

Well, I had a blue avatar in 2014, and a yellow one now. On the other hand, in 2014 I lived in a state without party registration, and now I'm a registered Republican. Tongue

I never "identified as" GOP as that would be slightly silly, but as for support:

Though I'm much more critical now than in 2014.

Indy/Blue.

Trump totally turned off any idea of Republicanism or conservatism to the non-politically active me.

Democrat/Democrat though more committed to the party now then I was back then. I voted Green that year (ironically while working for a Democratic candidate just because I was desperate for a job) and was more dejected by the two party system at the time whereas now i'm more committed to trying to make change within the Democratic Party although my politics really haven't changed all that much.

Independent/Democrat. I supported the Democrats then as well, but I identify as a Democrat now whereas then I would have called myself an independent who always voted Democratic. I'm still registered as unenrolled, though.
