This is a perfect example of a Democrat working against the interests of the working people of their state. How can the State Attorney General, who belongs to the party that supposedly represents the interests of workers, pursue a policy that'd directly and intentionally harm said workers? I understand wanting the 19 month budget impasse to end and trying to find some way to end it but, as Republican Governor Rauner's spokesman said, this would seek to directly harm thousands of employees. The Governor and state legislature need to come to some reasonable agreement, but the AG isn't helping the Democrats' case here when the Republican sounds like the bigger supporter of public sector employees.
