I see this entirely as a positive development. The war in Afghanistan has been pointless for like five years now.

+1. After all - Afghanistan borders former Soviet Union, and Russian bordergards still patrol Tajik-Afghan border. What happens there is of importance to Russia, probably more then to US....

but it fits to the story that russia warns the US against (!!) retreating from afganistan .....now that the western boogeyman is leaving the world, stable-cracy russia is hard-pressed to make compromise and cooperate with radical islamists themselves.

i hope the global alliance of left/right-russia fanboys chokes on this news from geopolitical superpower russia meddling with radicals to produce peace.
