Many Democrats and Democratic-leaning Independents have said that they find Trump horrible, but that Pence as president would be worse. What would it take for you to change your mind on that and favor the removal of Trump even if it meant President Pence? Are you already at that point?

Pence may be more stable but he is far worse on the ideological scale. I do believe Pence would remove all environmental protections, would make it illegal to be gay or lesbian, would be a literal racist, would remove all taxes.

So no. Never Pence.

I want him to take over now.  I rather not die over the next four years.

Trump is literally doing all of those things now.

No, but what little protections that are there are being scaled back.

Well if one is farther along than the other at least you have a chance of not being dead.

If T***p is going to sign whatever bill comes to his desk, then having him or Pence doesn't make much difference. So I'd be fine impeaching him on principle.

No points.

If Christie or even Gingrich had been picked, I would've said now though.

I know that they have their own personal differences, but when it comes to the policies they'll actually enact, is there a difference? The past week makes me think there isn't.

I'm not a Democrat, but I say no to Pence. Good thing he's not in the driver's seat.

Not a Democrat, but I'd be absolutely elated at the prospect of a President Pence.  So impeach away, friends.

Ew, but after witnessing the last week, I'd rather have Pence now. Trumo is utterly incompetent and unstable.

Right now.

There is no guarantee Pence would undo this most recent collection of downright horrid executive orders - but at least there would be no more?  Given that he recognized the unconstitutional nature of religious tests in 2015, perhaps that element of his ethos would return.  Pence is a very bad man, a very nasty and bigoted man, but to pretend that there is some great difference between him and Trump "on economics" is to whitewash both of their views.  It is style, not substance, that separates these two men.  They share a deep love for crony contractor capitalism.  Trump is actually just the better salesman.  And I get the impression a lot of Democrats prefer Trump to Pence because he feigns an interest in the working class.  That means you've been duped, I'm afraid.  At least Mike Pence would be less likely to cause a nuclear war and sign executive orders that target people because of their religion.  At least.

If Pence becomes President (for an extended period with any sort of powerful Congress), I would begin looking into leaving the country. Go on rotation in England or study somewhere. Anywhere but here.

Fortunately, I have faith in the American people to avoid ever actually electing him and Trump should be in office through midterms in a nightmare scenario.

Trump for now until the midterm. Pence isn't as polarizing.

-Pence would be much, much more likely to cause a nuclear war and sign an executive order getting the U.S. out of the TPP. Trump>>>>>Pence.

In terms of policy that would get passed, both would be practically indistinguishable, but Pence at least seems to have enough respect for Constitutional norms that there'd be a chance of there being a free and fair election in 2020 to beat him in. Plus, as far as I'm aware, he's raped zero people. I'll take Pence.
