I often write it the same as an uppercase A but smaller. Using all upper case but changing character height to distinguish upper from lower case can make my writing easier to read.

Option 1 when writing in print, option 2 when writing in cursive (which I still do most of the time).

Other than my signature, I haven't used cursive since I was in college in the 1970's. I found that when I lectured printing was much easier for my students to read than cursive. They don't teach cursive in the local schools anymore. That ended about a decade ago.

There are a number of fonts that provide small caps for lower case letters, too.
