The Austrian video will be shown on Tuesday by the comedians Sterman/Grissemann, who have an awesome Tuesday night comedy show for the public broadcaster ORF.

It's weak.  Certainly weaker than Netherland, Portugal, and Switzerland, which were my favorites (in that order.)  I did like the reference to Pink Floyd (and Hannibal Lecter!), but it seems like a rush job, and a bit lame, like the German one.  (I haven't watched the Belgian one yet.  I assume it will mention both the Flemish and Walloon parts, but I want to see if i can figure out how they'll work that into a Trumpist perfectionist worldview before I watch.)  I will say that I deeply appreciate someone finally saying that Saturday Night Live is terrible television.  Finally.  That show really, really sucks.  I watched it when I was about 12, 13, 14, and maybe 15, but I outgrew it long ago.  Oddly, from age 15 onward, I kept reading about how cool it was to watch it.  Even in my 40s I met people my age who talked about how sophisticated it was.  (?!)  Am I on a different frequency or what?  Thank you Lithuania for calling low-brow TV low-brow TV. 

Bonus points for the mural with Trump giving Putin a powerhit from his spliff, despite the lame narration.  Extra, extra, extra bonus points for letting Netherlands have second.  Class act.  I'm willing to consider putting them ahead of Switzerland and Portugal for that.

Also, I'm only getting it in one ear.  No stereo.  Is that on my end?

a little disappointing.

The yodeling guy looked suspiciously Japanese, and Hitler?!  Germany already claims him.  Yes, I know you have probably a better claim on him, but you have already given us your opinion of the anschluss, and so has The Sound of Music.  Can't have it both ways.  And how can you mention Schwarzenegger without making a political joke of it.  Missed opportunities, like the Libertarians and Democrats had in the fall of 2016.  The voiceover was passable, but you're not in a vacuum.  Already Switzerland, Netherland, Belgium, and Portugal have done a better job with that.  Portugal.  Seriously.  And they don't even speak one of the Germanic branch languages of the Indoeuropean language family.  Most importantly, I didn't see your basement, or hear any mention of its potential as a holding facility for wayward free thinkers.  Epic failure.  I'll give your country a C- for the effort.

By the way I have viewed Belgium since the last post I made here.  Here's my ranking:

AMERICA First (of course)
Netherlands Second (for originality)
Portugal Third
Denmark Fourth
Switzerland Fifth
Belgium Fifth (tie)
Germany Seventh
Austria Eighth
