I often do the line, to make clear it is not the number one.

I started doing it in all of my math and engineering classes so that I could easily differentiate between my 2's and my Z's. I would write my 2's like Z's without lines as it is more like my writing style and cleaner.

Yes, I cross my 7s. I also cross my Zs.

My 2s have a loop, but it's minimal. As for 8s, it is two circles, but the top one is slightly smaller than the bottom.

It depends on the context. If i'm writing it on a check and it is clear as a number distinct from 1 elsewhere in my writing I skip the line. If I'm writing something technical or a passcode with mixed characters I'll generally use the line to avoid ambiguity. It often depends on my reader and whether I think they understand the 7 with the line.

Hell yes with the line for the lucky number and "Z". Anything else is so uncouth.
