Since KillerPollo had an intorelant thread, how about a tolerant thread.  Who is the most tolerant poster on the forums?

Depends on the definition. I consider myself tolerant, but I won't tolerate the intolerable. I am very rational. I stand up for or condemn certain individuals or ideals that may not be particularly popular and I am often labeled as 'intolerant' as a result.

Most mainstream posters of whatever political party or avatar color would fit the profile of 'tolerant', including Gabu, Peter Bell, Joe Republic, MHS2002, WMS, ColinW, Ben, thefactor, nickshepDEM, Q, etc........

Good balance.  Much of the focus on "tolerance" today in the politically correct sense is a mindless denial of reality.  And of course, anybody who refuses to go along with it is labeled "intolerant."  Stick to your guns, man.  We need more people who can actually confront reality, rather than deny it and mask that denial by hiding behind tolerance.

The guys who murdered Pim Fortuyn and Theo Van Gogh might have used that line about "not tolerating the intolerant". It cuts both ways.

I'm much better now than I was when I first arrived here, for various reasons. I think the Forum encourages this to an extent because of all the different points of view (an echo chamber this ain't). Smiley

The majority of posters are tolerant of what needs to be tolerated. However, many behaviors and beliefs do not require respect and tolerance, like Satanism and funding of terrorists.

I feel so left out.  Not only have I drifted away from the forum medium (well, kinda; I'm less populist-leaning now, but more liberal in general), I have also become what could pretty much be considered less tolerant of a political philosophy (libertarianism).

Boohoo Sad

Ah, the old moral equivalency argument.  Disapproval of ideas and murder of those who espouse them are too different things.  I only favor locking up those who don't agree with my ideas...Smiley

That's just a difference of degree of intolerance though...
