I would like to commend Governor Wells for his commitment to revitalizing the Northern economy in the face of a slight downturn in the jobs report last month. However, I believe that a few provisions in here are a tad excessive. Cutting taxes on small businesses by $100 million is a bit much, and doubling funding for highway preservation is also a bit excessive. Don't get me wrong, I support both of these measures in theory, but we still have yet to produce a budget and we are currently unsure if we'll project a deficit or a surplus yet. I'd like to see what my colleagues have to say as well.

My goal was to boost the economy, and I believe this bill would be an effective way of doing that. The $100 million tax cut is, in my opinion, justified by the $100 million spending cut mentioned right before. As for the increase in infrastructure spending, I apologise if the wording made it unclear, but it was across all categories. I would be open to a small decrease in the increase if the rest of the Assembly agrees that it is drastic. The budget is another issue which I will work on soon.

I support the general idea of this plan, but as others have said, we can tone down the actual numbers as doubling road funding may be too much.  Though we do need to maintain our infrastructure and I am more than happy with the idea of section III.  In order to bring new players into the game, we must ensure that they have access to quality, reliable internet.  Going back to the tax issue, a decrease in the cuts will also mean a decrease in the 'shock' of the increase for big business.  Additionally, we could further dilute this burden by making it more than just the top 10 businesses.  Perhaps we could make the threshold a certain annual income instead.

I've decided to define "big business" and "small business" for the purposes of this bill. I'll also make this the official lexicon of all bills in the Northern Assembly that use the terms "big business" and "small business". Here's the bill with all of your suggestions that I approve of:

These changes are very agreeable. I can say that I'd enthusiastically support this incarnation of the bill.

Whoops, I let debate last a little long. Let's get voting, shall we? Here's the final incarnation of the bill:

All members have voted, so I'm ending voting early. The Ayes have it and the bill passes.
