Gallup: 55% disapprove of Muslim ban, Plurality says Trump is "moving too fast"

     People calling it a "Muslim ban" when it most certainly is not probably does not help public perception. It wasn't a particularly well-conceived order, but criticizing it should not require misrepresentation.

Perhaps, but it's worth noting that while not all Muslims were banned by the order, all those banned by the order were Muslims.
