He clerked for Kennedy.  I'm going to go with that.

Agreed. He also clerked for Byron White, so, Kennedy is obviously closest to White.

Is Gorsuch a conservative who believes in a "living Constitution" like Kennedy?

Almost certainly Scalia, from what I've heard.

So Gorsuch isn't a Roy Moore type?

Nobody is a Roy Moore type. It is frankly difficult to mangle constitutional interpretation like he did.

Don't count on it. They are advised that it is better to say nothing than say anything that could be remotely interpreted as negative. The hearings are only relevant if they don't follow that advice.

Anyway, whether or not he actually IS, Gorsuch's tribute to legislative supremacy during his nomination speech was a tribute to Scalia and his viewpoint. Until he starts writing opinions I'm inclined to say he'll be closer to Scalia.

Kennedy.

He is a libertarian judge nominated by a libertarian president.

Trump is as close to a libertarian president as we can get.

You are obviously not a libertarian, so you probably can't comprehend what motivates us.

I had a higher opinion of what motivates libertarians before reading this sentence than after.
