And here I was thinking that Trump was actually serious about improving relations with Russia...

This awkward moment you're agreeing with Nikki Haley...

Trump probably doesn't have much in the way of foreign policy, and its a deeply divided administration with rival centers of power.

Haley is right on that. I think that Uncle Vlad is testing the Donald, as did Iran with their missile. I like to get rid of the sanctions, especially from the perspective of the German economy, but only when the Minsk agreement is fully implemented. As of now, that's not the case although the Ukrainians also have to their homework with the federalizing reform.

I'm rather pleasantly surprised Nikki Haley, for a Trump appointee, is putting country ahead of party.  Perhaps Sen. Gillibrand's trust in her professionalism when she cast her vote for her nomination was not misplaced after all.

When Haley became governor six years ago, she proved to be considerably better than I thought she would be based on her prior accomplishments and her campaign rhetoric. I'd hoped I'd be able to say the same about The Donald but it's clear now that I won't.
