Could have some interesting revelations in it that haven't quite been answered yet, such as when exactly did they see trouble in midwest blue wall states.

No----

I might check it out of the library some day, but now that I am several decades out of academia, I figure I will see relevant data regarding the '16 campaign here without having to fund her election campaign for Mayor of New York City....

Tbh it's either going to have to be two books or be about 1000 pages long. The 2008 one virtually skipped over the republican primaries.

I may buy HRC's book- from the sounds of it it's not a campaign reveal, but rather a series of essays which sounds kinda boring

Didn't both Newsweek and Time used to do big campaign reveal issues just after the election, when their reporters were free to reveal background information that they were sworn to secrecy on during the course of the campaign?  It was basically an abbreviated version of Game Change.  They used to do that after every presidential election, but unfortunately I didn't see any similar kind of deep dive after the 2016 election.

It looks like it will be several essays by those involved in the campaign rather than a tell-all

Sure. Along with books on the 2003 season of the 43-119 Detroit Tigers' baseball season and the 2008 (0-16) Detroit Lions' football season.

(Irony intended).
