I wore glasses from 5th grade-the beginning of last year.  I got contact lenses in December and I'm a new man.  I see much better, you can't sit on them and bend them, and I'm much better looking.

I have to wear glasses after that quack of an eye doctor gave me contacts that turned my nearsightedness into farsightedness.  I'm probably going to get LASIK once I save up for it.

I dislike contacts...typical of the shallowness that's taking over modern culture.

I wear glasses, but only when driving or in school. Very uncomfortable in the present 104 degree heat in Iowa!

But they make me look intelectual. Smiley

Iowa has that kind of weather? You're further north than us...

I wear both. Normally I wear glasses at home when I'm not involved in much physical activity, but at work and school I wear contacts. It's pretty much what everybody already said; you'll be irritated with contacts for the first few months, but after that they'll be extremely natural. I've never had trouble putting mine in, but some people require extra time getting used to that aspect, too. The doctors will recommend that at first you not leave them in more than 8-12 hours, but after a while, you can leave them in for several days at a time if you want. Just make sure to keep them clean and moist.
