School reunions

Was just thinking that I haven't heard anything about my ten year high school reunion which should be happening this year. I wonder if they tend to be less important for our generation with the existence of social media. I probably wouldn't go even if I was invited though, high school is a period of my life I really do not want to flashback to and anyone who I actually want to reconnect with I already can.

I'm an old so I've managed to avoid a whole bunch of them.  I live far away, so that helps.

No - they seem to be less of a thing here than over the pond (which is a bit odd given that this country is considerably smaller).

The closest thing thus far was when a guy who'd moved to New Zealand temporarily came back for study reasons and invited a load of people (me included, but I didn't go) to join him for a few drinks.

I just had my 10 year a couple years ago, but didn't go.  I had just moved out of the area, and I'm not particularly fond of my HS years anyway.  Interestingly, the former class president now also lives out of state and couldn't attend, but she helped to organize the event online.

This is the key. I went to my unofficial 5 year reunion, and it was kinda dumb. The people I wanted to see I already see and they weren't there, and the people I saw were just not interesting.

My 10 year is coming up in a couple years and I have zero interest in attending.
I didn't really have many friends in high school and I have no interest in making friends with anyone I went to high school with now.
