I think so. Look at this video., He is taking the economic nationalism lesson from Trump and Brexit and weiving his 2016 pitch with a vision for what this means in terms of being American.

79 years young is just too old to begin your presidency.

He probably doesn't know yet either.  I'm sure he is considering it, and he is running for a Senate term that will end in 2024.  If he is doing well health-wise, I'm sure he will run.

2017 is not the time to talk about this. No1 knows what kind of health he would be in. 2018, after he is re-elected to the Senate & has campaigned will be the time where he will take a firm hard look @ things.

If you run you start around April-June 2019 so the 1st quarter you do all the ground-work. Campaign slogans, message, Lobbying Supers, etc so by the time you prepare you look ready! I think after his Senate re-election he will sit down & take a call!

I think he holds out like Biden did, which, ironically, probably hurts chances of an "outside progressive" of winning the nomination.

Mine eyes have seen the glory
of the coming of Bernie;
his victory over the orange one
shall stretch from sea to shining sea
he fights for people everywhere
people just like you and me
his truth is marching on.
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
His truth is marching on!

Bernie doesn't plan to be President. He does plan to make a President, however. I assume this is behind his intent to reshape the Democratic Party to embrace his working class populism.

He stated his intentions very clearly when he ran, to provide a contrast and to force a shift within the Democratic Party in a fashion that propels it back towards the populist majorities it used to enjoy.

Good point.  Hopefully he'll hold out just long enough to suck up media oxygen but not so long that he prevents Warren, Brown, etc from building the infrastructure that he didn't after he got started too late.

The President of Tunisia was elected at age 88.

I love Bernie, but come on... He will be in his late eighties if he completes his second term. That is nuts.

I'm not saying he will run or should run, but he doesn't have to run for 2 terms.  We elect a president for 4 years.

There's a higher chance of option 4 happening than option 2.

No, but I think whoever he chooses to endorse will be the eventual nominee.

He can make the promise to make one term if he runs in 2020.

No Bernie will not pursue the Democratic nomination in 2020. I think he will flirt with it but he will opt out to not run. His endorsement however, that will be the most powerful endorsement in the primary. Whoever he endorses in the primary might actually become the nominee. Bernie has a bunch of devoted fans, as we all know, and they will flock to whoever he says. That candidate just cannot be like a Hillary 2.0.

Nah, won’t happen. He’ll be almost 80 and there are other alternatives from his party wing. Either Warren, Brown or Gabbard. I have a felling it’s going to be Warren. Bernie will campaign for her though and be a very present figure in the public.

If Sanders doesn't run himself, then what is the probability that endorses anyone during the primary campaign?  There are certainly costs to doing an endorsement, as all of the candidates will want to suck up to him and pay lip service to his issues as long as he's officially "neutral".

I think he would use his endorsement as a weapon to advance specific policy and messaging goals from the nominee, the way Warren did this cycle, but with 10x the effect. Difference is Warren endorsed after the primary, I think if a sufficiently progressive candidate runs then Sanders may endorse during.

I hope not, but I'm afraid he will. I just hope he doesn't endorse Gabbard.
