GOP ad against Jon Ossoff attacks him for liking Star Wars and being in an a capella group. I'm not kidding. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ztJlZ3Ndbw4

He may have a chance here after all.

And now someone made a counter ad: "A New Hope"

The ad does raise an interesting issue though. Millennials born in the late 80s onward will have a lot of videos, social media and online digital papertrails. How will this be used when they run for office?

This will certainly become a big part of political campaigns in the decades to come, imo.

This race is heating up. If we can win this one, then the makings of a Democratic tsunami in 2018 are definitely there.

Frankly I think he's being too soft on Trump in those ads. Whoever his opponent is going to be needs to have their face shown next to Donald's over and over and say it plain as day: a vote for (opponent's name) is a vote for the fascist agenda of Donald Trump.

If they got to call Obama a socialist, we get to call Trump a fascist.

This is a bad ad. It doesn't appeal to undecided nonpartisans.

Also, considering that most Republicans under 30 are extremely socially awkward basement-dwelling Anime and sci-fi fans, is nerd-shaming really such a smart strategy?

You post on Atlas Forum; you're really in no position to be calling anyone a socially awkward nerd.

I don't think that's a real good portrayal of republicans under 30...

Au contraire, who better to assess whether someone is in fact a socially awkward nerd than a socially awkward nerd? Wink

Well that description certainly fits Trump's most vocal supporters, at least in cyberspace, and people who basically fit  that description are the reason Trump did so much better with White Millennials than McCain or Romney did. The very religious, children of rich kids, and Southern Frat Boys and Sorority Girls support Trump too, but they've been strongly Republican for decades, and thus their being such isn't particularly remarkable or interesting.

It's not just southern fraternity folks, fraternities in general are mor conservative, while there's a new group of internet troll type trump supporters, the majority of young republicans don't fit your description at all.

It would be interesting to see Ossoff's name recognition in that poll. Karen Handel probably is widely known due to having previously held office. I think Trump's approval numbers are a little high for what I would expect in Ga-06.

LMAO who is dumb enough to use Trafalgar? Also, no way Trump is +10 in a district barely to the right of the national popular vote.

Even if he wins the special, can we all agree that he's dead in 2018 when this district's voters actually show up?

I'm not sure; maybe. If he somehow wins (I'm not convinced he will yet), holding on would require making a decent name for himself there and hoping there is a backlash against Trump in 2018. If there was, I would be ok with giving him 50/50 odds on holding onto the seat. If 2018 turns out to be a more neutral year, then I could easily see him losing it, even if by a small margin.

No, that makes no sense. Probably one of the most vunerable Democrats, but not "dead."
